Stalingrad 42 Gold: "First Assault" scenario available for download

"The First Assault" scenario covers the initial attack on Stalingrad September 13-17.
The Stalingrad 42 title has a hole in the scenario listing.  There is no scenario covering the initial assault on Stalingrad.  In fact, there are no scenarios at all for the months of September and October.  I don't think this was an oversight. I think that the designers knew it would be hard to simulate the battle during this period at a 1km per hex scale.  Panzer Battles would be better IMO (wink, wink WDS).

Anyway, using my new 30km x 20km map size, I have created a scenario covering the initial assault on Stalingrad (screenshot above).

There are AI orders for both the Germans and the Russians.

It can also be played head to head.  The scenario description is here:

Paulus' 6th Army is driving on Stalingrad.  It is September 13 and the GE 71, 76 and 295 ID's are less than 10km from the outskirts of the city.  Objectives have been set:  Red Square, the Main Train Station, Hill 102,  the Red October Factory, Lazur Chemical Factory, the Dzerzhinsky Tractor Factory and the massive Grain Silos in the south of the city.  In support of the 6th Army, Hoth's 4th Panzer has released the 29th Motorized, 24th Panzer and the 94th ID.  The German High Command is predicting a swift victory.  The Volga beckons.  This scenario can be played as either the Russian or German side.  The Germans move first.  The map is 30x20km.  I have combined German companies into battalions to lower unit density.  Soviet reinforcement using the Volga flotilla could not be simulated by assigning AI orders (it happens about 20% of the time for some reason).  To make certain the two most important Russian reinforcements occur (13th Guards and 137 TB), I have assigned them to appear on the western shore of the Volga near the time of their historical reinforcement of the west bank, rather than giving them an "Active" or "Direct" order to get there.

To make it simple, I've also relied on one source: Osprey's Campaign series for unit placement and a timeline.  I know the timeline can vary depending upon the source.

is the Stalingrad '42 oob suppose to over right the existing Stalingrad '42 oob?

No, actually my adding it was unecessary. I am going to edit the post and remove it.

On Turn 15 as the Germans. Just like the actual battle, I'm making progress but it's getting harder and harder.
